In 2019, Juha Stenberg and Ville Parviainen had the same conversation one too many times. EV charging was growing fast across the Nordics, but the software behind it was holding businesses back. Chargers sat in their own silo, data was hard to use, and every small change felt like a project.

The tools existed, but they didn't fit how companies actually run operations.

The default assumption in the industry was to build closed systems: a dedicated app, proprietary hardware, a branded experience at the charger. Juha and Ville saw that differently. The retailers, parking operators, and energy companies that own charging stations already had apps, billing systems, and customer relationships. Building a parallel world on top of that made no sense.

So eMabler was built to integrate instead. If a retailer has a loyalty app, EV charging lives inside it. If an energy company already invoices thousands of households, the charging bill goes on the same invoice. The technology sits in the background. The operator stays in control.

That decision shaped everything about how the company was built: API-first, hardware-agnostic, and focused above all else on reliability. Because eMabler's promise to any EV driver pulling up to a charger is a simple one: it has to work.
