The shift we are building for
Electric transport has moved from a policy story to an operational one. Drivers now expect to charge where they already shop, park and buy their energy. Retailers see EVs in their parking lots every day, parking operators see charging become part of the space they sell, and energy sales companies see charging as the next service on the customer’s bill.
That changes what customers buy. They do not want a separate charging business on the side. They want charging to work inside the business they already run: in their app, their loyalty program, their customer system and their invoice. An energy company can put charging on the same invoice as electricity and broadband. A parking operator can sell parking and charging in one app. A retailer can turn a charging stop into a store visit. The technology still has to connect hardware, payments, roaming and energy, but what decides the deal is what charging does for the customer’s core business.
Each of these decisions is made country by country, by people who want a partner who understands their market. That is where you come in.
About eMabler
eMabler is the EV charging software company behind an open platform used by retailers, parking operators and energy sales companies across Europe. Our customers add EV charging to a business they already run, and they want to launch fast. We connect chargers, vehicles, energy systems and end-user apps through one set of APIs, so a customer can launch a charging service in weeks as part of the experience they already offer.
We have closed our Series A and are building the commercial team that takes us into our priority European markets.
In our customers’ words
Retailers, parking operators and energy companies use eMabler to build charging into the business they already run. This is how they describe it.
“We’ve been happy with eMabler’s flexibility, and we feel definitely in control of our business. eMabler gives us freedom to select what we need, and not all providers can do that.”
Erno Ratia, Head of IT, ABC (retail)
“The ability to unify parking and charging into a single app has been a game changer for us.”
Victor Lindwall, Head of Aimo Charge, Aimo Park Nordics (parking)
“The new charging platform opens new sales opportunities, both within our existing customer base and in new market segments. We can now develop solutions for a wider range of use cases, particularly where electricity cost reimbursement and charging revenue management are essential.”
Fredrik Skogrand, Head of Sales and Marketing at NEAS (energy)
Why this role exists
Nobody buys a charging platform on a demo and a price list. A retail chain, a parking operator or an energy sales company is deciding how charging will strengthen the business it already runs: more visits and longer stays for a retailer, more value per parking space for a parking operator, another service on the same customer relationship and invoice for an energy company. They are choosing the system that will run that service for years. On the buying side there is a commercial lead, a technical lead, finance and often procurement, and each of them asks a different question.
Most of these customers are not charging experts, and they do not need to become one. They need someone who understands EV charging well enough to design the service, and who keeps building the business case with them until it holds for everyone who has to sign. These deals take time and several rounds. Persistence is what wins them.
Our best commercial results come from people who understand that business and can design how eMabler fits into it. They win larger first deals, the scope holds after signature, and the account keeps growing because the customer treats them as an advisor rather than a vendor.
As Business Development Director you own the customer relationship and the revenue in your country, from the first conversation to the account plan two years later.
What you will own
You carry the number for your country: new customers and expansion of existing ones.
• Win new customers. Build and run the pipeline in your country and sign new logos every quarter. Growing existing accounts alone is not the job.
• Lead with the customer’s business. Run discovery before the demo: the customer’s core business and their own customers, their sites, app, loyalty and billing setup, their growth plan, and where charging adds to each.
• Build the business case with the customer. Utilization, revenue per charge point, operating cost and time to launch, plus what charging adds to the core business: store visits and basket size, value per parking space, or another service on the energy bill. Keep working it until finance signs off.
• Design the scope. Modules, integrations, roaming and payment setup, and the rollout order. Bring in our technical sales and product people when a case needs depth, and stay the customer’s lead throughout.
• Handle procurement end to end, including tenders and the security and compliance annexes.
• Grow the accounts you win. Keep an account plan for every key customer and close expansion: more charge points, more sites, more modules, more countries. Customer Success owns adoption and renewals; you own the commercial relationship.
• Bring the market back to product. Tell our product teams early what customers in your country are building toward, with evidence. Flag the requirement that keeps showing up in tenders before it costs us a deal.
• Keep the record straight. Pipeline, forecast and account plans live in the CRM, so the forecast holds without a phone call.
What success looks like
First 90 days: You have met every key customer and active opportunity in your country, your pipeline is in the CRM and qualified, and you have agreed a 12-month plan for your market with the Regional Director.
By month 9: Your first new customers are signed, every key account has a plan agreed with Customer Success, and your forecast holds quarter to quarter.
By month 18: Your country is a reliable source of new logos and expansion revenue, and you have created reference customers that help sell in the rest of the region.
Who you are
• You have sold and grown complex B2B SaaS, energy or infrastructure accounts with several stakeholders and a real procurement process.
• You know EV charging and at least one of our customers’ businesses: retail, parking or energy sales. You understand EV charging economics without a briefing, and you explain them in the language of the customer’s core business.
• You can sketch a customer’s charging setup on a whiteboard (chargers, OCPP, roaming, payments, energy management) and show where eMabler fits. You do not need to be an engineer.
• You ask before you pitch. Customers describe you as someone who understood their business.
• You are persistent. A business case often takes several rounds with several people, and you stay with it until it holds.
• You are comfortable owning a number, and you close. Consultative is a way of selling, not a replacement for it.
• You know your market. You speak the local language and have the network to be credible from week one. Working English is required.
• You keep your CRM and forecast accurate without being chased.
• You use AI as a default part of how you work, and you look for where it lets one person do more.
Bonus, not required
• Experience selling to retail chains, parking operators or energy sales companies in your country.
• Experience with tenders and public procurement in your market.
• A network among hardware vendors, installers and system integrators that we can put to work early.
What you get from this role
• A market to build. You are eMabler in your country. The customers you win and the references you create shape how the market sees us.
• Room to sell properly. Time for discovery and solution design, with technical sales, product and Customer Success behind you.
• Accounts you keep. You stay with your customers after signature and grow them, rather than handing them over and starting again.
• Strong colleagues. The product, engineering and operations people here have built and shipped before, and they will challenge your work in a useful way.
• Pay that follows your results. A competitive base salary, plus a sales bonus on the new logos you sign and on the growth of the customers you bring in.
• Stake in what we build. Our customers electrify transport faster because we exist; if that matters to you, it matters here.
How to apply
Apply via the application form below. Tell us which country you are applying for and attach two documents: your CV, and a one-page note about one complex account you won and grew (what the customer needed, how you shaped the deal and what happened after signature). Most of all, tell us why you. We use AI tools to help review applications, and a person makes every decision. We reply to the candidates we invite to the next phase.
