Time Park success story

Time Park is a Norwegian parking operator, fully owned by the Thon Group, one of Norway's largest real estate companies. Across several hundred locations (shopping centres, hotels, workplaces, and multi-dwelling units) Time Park manages both parking and EV charging as a combined offering so that EV drivers can park and charge in one visit through Time Park's own app (Time Park Fix), partner platforms, or payment kiosks.

“The goal is always to provide a frictionless parking and charging experience where everything just works,” says Henrik Fauske, Product Owner at Time Park.

Running that operation reliably, across hundreds of locations and multiple charging contexts, starts with the EV charging management platform behind it. As Time Park's EV charging portfolio grew, so did the requirements on the platform supporting it. What Time Park needed was a provider that could scale, respond quickly, and align with how the business actually operates without being boxed into a fixed setup.

Those requirements pointed Time Park toward a different kind of platform and a different kind of partner.

Choosing Flexibility, Modularity, and Partnership

When defining what the next platform partnership should look like, Time Park looked for more than a feature set. The company wanted a partner it could work with directly, one that understood where Time Park was heading and could adapt to get there together.

In other words, the commercial and operational model mattered as much as the technology. Time Park needed an EV charging platform that could grow with the business, with a modular architecture that allowed new capabilities to be adopted as operations evolved, without rebuilding what was already working.

eMabler matched those requirements. Rather than a rigid system with a fixed feature set, eMabler’s modular approach gave Time Park the ability to select the components it needed, expand when the business called for it, and integrate with existing systems without compromise.

On top of that, eMabler's support model offered direct access to the engineers who built the platform, with fast, thorough answers instead of lengthy back-and-forth tickets.

"We are not looking for suppliers. We are looking for partners in everything we do," says Henrik. "Suppliers are just transaction-based. We’re seeking partnerships so that we can grow and build better solutions together. I find eMabler to be of the same mindset."

Migrating an Entire EV Charging Network in 14 Days

For most operators, migrating from one legacy platform to another is the kind of project that can bring operations to a halt. The risk of disruption, the technical complexity, the dependency on the vendor to make it happen are all real concerns, and none of them are easy to ignore.

This reality makes Time Park’s story all the more remarkable.

In what became eMabler's fastest migration on record, Time Park completed the move in 14 days, mostly on its own. On of the key success factors that made this possible was a deliberate technical decision made earlier: building Time Park's systems as a fully OCPI-compliant EMSP from the start. That standardization meant the core of the migration was, in Henrik's words, "almost plug-and-play."

“The migration process was standardized and worked out of the box,” adds Henrik. "Successful charging sessions started coming in quickly right after the migration, which confirmed early on that everything was working."

The remaining work involved smaller adjustments, as is expected with any migration of this volume. According to Henrik, what kept the process moving fast and smooth was also the speed of support during that initial period. Through direct access to eMabler's engineering team, Time Park could work through questions as they came up. Answers came back quickly, all requests were handled in the same conversation, and the migration kept moving.

"We could get things done really fast, with quick answers at every step, instead of waiting days for a response. That was very beneficial." Henrik explains.

All in all, throughout the migration, eMabler responded quickly to Time Park's requests. When something was needed, it was delivered. For Time Park, that responsiveness confirmed what it had been looking for from the start: a partner that moves at the same pace as the business

Running a Multi-Site EV Charging Network on eMabler

Today, Time Park runs its full EV charging network through eMabler across hundreds of locations in Norway. The platform handles session management, OCPI connectivity with Time Park's EMSP setup, and the operational workflows that support multiple charging contexts, from slow AC chargers at hotels to fast chargers at shopping centres.

"eMabler's business model is more aligned with how we do business and how we structure charging," says Henrik. "The modularity fits us particularly well because we are in an expansion phase. As we grow, we can add new capabilities within eMabler as our needs evolve."

On top of that, the relationship with eMabler's team continues well beyond the go-live. Time Park and eMabler meet regularly to review what is working, discuss new functionalities, and explore what to build next. It is the kind of ongoing collaboration that Henrik sees as fundamental to how Time Park works with all its partners.

"We've had some fruitful discussions," says Henrik. "The whole industry has been through deep and radical change recently. Some CPOs are growing, others are stalling. Some businesses are being sold or acquired, while others are prospering. The charge point management system is one of the cornerstones that defines the outcome. eMabler plays that role, and it can evolve and adapt as the market changes."

Conclusion

Time Park's focus going forward is on expanding its EV charging operations outside of Norway, scaling what already works across new locations and markets.

That growth depends on an EV charging platform designed to keep pace and a team genuinely invested in making it work. In eMabler, Time Park has found both: a platform built for change and a partner invested in shared goals rather than a traditional supplier.

eMabler's modular structure means new capabilities can be adopted as Time Park expands, without disrupting what is already running. On top of that, the two teams meet regularly, exchange ideas, and make sure the platform continues to serve where the business is heading.

Asked whether he would recommend eMabler to other operators relying on a platform that no longer fits their business, Henrik does not hesitate: “I would absolutely advise them to contact eMabler.”
